In developing countries around the world, innovators and entrepreneurs flourish under few regulations. US upstarts have to jump high regulatory barriers and pay licensing fees and onerous taxes for the smallest new enterprises.  No wonder business has shifted out of this country.

Here’s one delightful example of flourishing, wild innovation — in China of all places, » Read more: Innovation thrives where bureaucracy is lean.

peacefreedom

December 3rd, 2009

Peace and freedom work together, but because most people think they can be divided — government aggression into private lives is accepted — we fail to secure either. If we say we love liberty but impose restrictions on peaceful behavior, we inevitably support tyranny. The longer we accept and support these fundamental contradictions, the more government will resort to intrusions on both peace and liberty.

UPDATE: My sketch was posted on another site: it received a lot of comments, and I got a quick education on the origin of the peace symbol.  The person said to design it later regretted its energy is directed downward.  One peace organization uses the symbol pointing up. So, back to the drawing board.  I’ll research and think about it further and post when I revise the sketch.
